My pink flowers

These are the climbing roses that we removed three years ago!
Ok, you can stay

My very favorite rose, Heaven on Earth
with my fuzzy lamb's ears.
Oh, and that's Veronica sticking her spiky self in the picture.
She will soon be pink, too.

This is my first year for peonies, and I was able to enjoy them in all their glory
for about a second,

then came the rain and weighed them down,
but hey, a second is better than nothing at all!

Garden Pics June 5th

Don't know which I like better,
the bud or the flower.

Remember the messy yard?
We have TONS of helicopters!

Looky, looky!
I've got thyme babies!

To do list revisited

OK, I'm only listing one thing for my to do list now- my messy, messy yard! That's actually wayyy more than five things. I'll give you a full report at the end of the weekend.

Advice for the day: BE NICE! Being petty and nasty just sucks energy out of people. It is like drinking the poison you meant to give someone else, and that's all I'm going to say about that.....

Today I am thankful for: Lunch with a good friend, the smell of Russian olives, beautiful flowers blooming, and summer. Yes, even though it's stinkin' hot today, I'm not using my AC, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm a tough chick or if it's because the Hubs hasn't put them in the window yet.....

It's on my to-do list!

Thinking about the fact that I will go into work on Fridays (and Sundays, of course) and work from home one other day, I realize that means I've got 4 (somewhat) open days. As this is the year of frugality- (is that a word?) I am going to do lots of things around the house. I don't know about you, but to do lists can overwhelm me, maybe I'll make a list of 5 to dos at a time. Yes, that's the ticket. OK, now I'm going to figure out those 5 things and record them here, so you can hold me accountable.
Ciao for now.......

Gardening News

Yesterday I was finally able to plant my veggie garden. My local greenhouse helped my by getting the plants started. I'm not very good with seeds. Maybe I don't talk to them enough- HMMM.....
I've got Brandywine and Early girl tomatoes, yellow and red/green peppers, cucumbers, corn, and sweet yellow onions. I've got strawberries and blackberries in pots. I actually do have a couple of seeds I started: Oregano, thyme, rosemary, and lettuce. I'm not expecting much, but miracles do happen.....
Feeling loopy, I took some allergy meds. I'm going to veg (or pass out) on the couch.

Happy 14th Anniversary!

Even though the Hubs was out of town, he still sent me roses!
Thank you, hun.

Introductions

Why am I writing this blog? Well, it's a diary of sorts for my gardening, cooking, and overall outlook on life- anything and nothing at all!
I plan on posting pics of my garden to help me track the progress of things.
I may post everyday, or every month, who knows, just check back often and drop me a line.
Cheers!
Sue
